West Bay

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

West-Bay

Location: West Bay, Grand Cayman
Capacity: 910,000 US gallons per day (3400 m3 per day)
Commissioned: 1995

This facility is one of three located in the Company’s distribution service area for Grand Cayman.  Originally commissioned in 1995 with a capacity of 500,000 US gallons per day, the plant was expanded in 2008 to the current production capacity of 910,000 US gallons per day.  The facility is designed to allow for additional expansion as the need arises.

In addition to the desalination plant equipment, the site includes three million US gallons of water storage, disinfection equipment, finished water distribution pumps and laboratory testing facilities.

The drinking water produced by these facilities is distributed via the Company’s pipelines to homes, business, hotels and tourist accommodations in the West Bay area, one of the most populated areas on Grand Cayman.
